Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Wednesday by 0.26% compared to the previous day to reach 928,193 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,358 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,677 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 931,158 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.26% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.17% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, hydro power plants held a 24.22% share while imported coal plants comprised 22.19%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,282 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,317 megawatt-hours.
