Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.75 % on Sept. 3

- Electricity exports amount to 9,655 megawatt-hours while imports reach 2,898 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.75% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 959,222 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Electricity production reached 965,979 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.67% increase compared to the previous day.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 45,230 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,137 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.03% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Thursday, hydropower plants held a 26.21% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.29%.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,655 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,898 megawatt-hours.
