Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Monday by 13.1% compared to the previous day to reach 897,608 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,562 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,670 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 899,976 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 13.5% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 25.82% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Monday, imported coal plants held a 22.64% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 18.34%.
On Monday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,013 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,645 megawatt-hours.
