Turkey's daily power consumption up 14.5% on March 8

- Electricity exports amount to 7,417 megawatt-hours, while imports total 3,200 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.5% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 893,485 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,363 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,377 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 897,761 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.1% increase from Sunday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 18.8%, while hydroelectricity power plants held a 18.7% share.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,417 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,200 megawatt-hours.
