Turkey's daily power consumption up 15.4% on Oct. 12

- Electricity exports amount to 10,458 megawatt-hours while imports reach 749 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.4% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 781,613 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,396 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,056 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 791,322 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.6% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.85% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 19.65% share while hydropower plants comprised 19.43%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,458 megawatt-hours while imports reached 749 megawatt-hours.
