Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Tuesday by 1.9% compared to the previous day to 947,124 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 43,896 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,008 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 947,493 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.11% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 239,427 megawatt-hours. Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 207,022 megawatt-hours and 205,850 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,603 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 4,234 megawatt-hours.
