Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.94% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 867,774 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,140 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,560 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 876,705 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.87% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.96% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 18.58% share while wind plants comprised 16.25%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,409 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 478 megawatt-hours.
