Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.35% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 799,127 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,284 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,855 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 810,534 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.44% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.18% of total electricity consumption on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 21.97% share while lignite plants comprised 13.47%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,428 megawatt-hours while imports reached 21 megawatt-hours.
