Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Tuesday by 2.51% compared to the previous day to reach 928,665 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,991 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,766 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 928,665 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.57% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.89% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, hydro power plants held a 24.16% share while imported coal plants comprised 22.45%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,163 megawatt-hours while imports reached 4,113 megawatt-hours.
