Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.6% on August 18

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 4,588 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 1,259 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Tuesday by 2.6% compared to the previous day to reach 921,727 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,798 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,780 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 925,056 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.7% increase compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.82% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 22.37% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 20.21%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,588 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,259 megawatt-hours.
