Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.97% on July 16

- Electricity exports amount to 14,919 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,011 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.97% on Friday compared to the previous day, reaching 1.04 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,526 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Thursday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 34,361 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 1.05 million megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 2.94% increase from Thursday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 38.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 16.8% while hydropower plants comprised 13%.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,919 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,011megawatt-hours.
