The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.2% on Thursday compared to the previous day, reaching a new record high of 1,098,614 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,603 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,405 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production reached 1,088,560 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 1.9% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.7% and 17.3%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 6,310 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 16,364 megawatt-hours.
