Türkiye's daily power consumption down 0.3% on Aug. 9

- Electricity exports amount to 13,103 megawatt-hours and imports total 12,862 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.3% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,129,745 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,684 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,681 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,129,949 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of 0.3% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.5% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 21% and 13%, respectively.

On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 13,103 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,862 megawatt-hours.
