Türkiye's daily power consumption down 0.5% on August 1

- Electricity exports amount to 14,388 megawatt-hours and imports total 1,032 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,121,424 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,734 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,932 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,134,493 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 0.1% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.6% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 20.6% and 12.3%, respectively.
