Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 5,19% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 778,033 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 37,371megawatt-hours at 12 a.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country's electricity consumption fell to 28,074 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 778,033 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an decrease of 4.6% compared to Thursday.
Imported coal plants contributed 26.2% of total generation, while wind energy and lignite power plants contributed 18.7% and 17%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,671 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 24,091 megawatt-hours.
