Türkiye's daily power consumption up 0.97% on Aug. 12

- Electricity exports amount to 9,815 megawatt-hours and imports total 21,438 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.97% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1.04 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,522 megawatt-hours at 03.00 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,600 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1.03 million megawatt-hours on Friday, same level compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas power plants constituted 28% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydro power plants contributed 19.9% and 14.5%, respectively.

On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,815 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 21,438 megawatt-hours.
