Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 909,699 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,787 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,288 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 925,844 megawatt-hours on Monday marking a rise of 13.4% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.9% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydropower contributed 24.8% and 14.3%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 16,508 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 401 megawatt-hours.
