Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 1.47% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 867,919 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 41,875 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country's electricity consumption fell to 28,858 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 854,103 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 1.73% compared to Tuesday.
Imported coal plants contributed 28.1% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants supplied 26.7% and 14.7%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,608 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 23,425 megawatt-hours.
