Türkiye's daily power consumption up 17.9% on June 20

- Electricity exports amount to 10,894 megawatt-hours and imports total 14,562 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 17.9% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 910,925 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,227 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,460 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 907,263 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 17.4% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from imported coalplants constituted 21% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and wind plants contributed 19.4% and 16%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 10,894 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,562 megawatt-hours.
