Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 18.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 972,676 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,764 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,275 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 986,777 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking increase of 18% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.5% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 24.2% and 10.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 14,773 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 673 megawatt-hours.
