Türkiye's electricity production in September decreased by around 1.46%, compared to the same period last year, data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Thursday.
Total electricity generation fell to around 26.55 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in September, Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced in its latest electricity market report.
The country produced electricity from several sources including 26.6% from imported coal, from 23.3% natural gas, from 17.9% hydropower, and from 13.8% lignite.
Geothermal, biomass, solar power, hard coal, fuel oil and asphaltite generated the remaining share.
Electricity consumption in September increased to around 24.56 million MWh, marking a 0.5% fall year-on-year.
Installed electricity capacity rose by around 1% to 96,548 megawatts in September, relative to September 2023.
Natural gas power plants comprised 25.4% of electricity installed capacity, while hydropower and wind plants accounted for 24.7% and 12.7%, respectively.
Imported coal, lignite, biomass, geothermal, solar power, hard coal, asphaltite, fuel oil, naphtha, LNG and diesel also contributed to the installed capacity.
