Türkiye's electricity production increased by around 3.3% in September compared to the same month last year, the latest data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Tuesday.
Total electricity production rose to around 26.75 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in September, Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced in its electricity market report for September.
The country produced electricity from several sources: 25.5% from natural gas, 25.1% from imported coal, 14.5% from hydroelectricity, 12.7% from lignite and 12.5% from wind.
Geothermal, biomass, hard coal, solar power, asphaltite, and fuel oil generated the remaining share.
Electricity consumption in September also increased to around 23.90 million MWh, marking a 7.34% rise compared to the same month last year.
Installed electricity capacity rose by around 1.7% to 95,623 megawatts in September, relative to September last year.
Natural gas power plants comprised 26.4% of electricity installed capacity, while hydropower and wind plants accounted for 24.3% and 12%, respectively.
Lignite, imported coal, hydropower, biomass, geothermal, solar power, hard coal, asphaltite, fuel oil, naphtha, LNG and diesel also contributed to the installed capacity.
