Algeria's Sonatrach signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the U.S.' Chevron, the Algerian company announced Wednesday.
The agreement sets out plans for the two sides to begin future cooperation on exploration, development and production in Algeria.
Sonatrach said the MoU would also see the two companies work on technology transfer in various parts of the oil and gas business, but did not elaborate further.
Earlier this month, Sonatrach and Italy's Eni signed a deal on the marketing of dry gas from the Zemoul El Kbar license at block 403.
