Turkey's Limak Group finished the construction of Banja dam and hydro power plant and it speeded up its construction of Moglice dam and hydro power plant in Albania, Nihat Ozdemir, Board Chairman of Limak Group said on Monday.
'The construction of Banja dam, which has a capacity of 75 megawatts, is completed and it will generate energy in a short time. Also, we accelerated our work for the construction of Moglice dam, which has 175 megawatt capacity,' he said and added that these two projects were Limak's commitment in Albania to Norwegian Statkraft.
Banja dam and hydro power plant were opened on Friday with attendance of Albania'a Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Ozdemir noted that the company seeks for new investment opportunities along with two dam projects in Albania, which has a developing economy and is an official EU candidate.
'Limak group regards Balkans as a very important region. We supply energy distribution in Kosovo and construct Prishtine airport. Also, we will introduce a significant investment which will include construction of residences and shopping mall in Skopje, Macedonia,' he said.
