A digital platform, VerdeYu, caters to the hybrid staffing needs of renewable energy and sustainability players through a listing of experts and freelancers while also providing skills development and industry information in one location.
Launched in 2021, the platform is unique in bringing three tools together -- YuConnect, YuSmart and YuTrainer.
YuConnect aims to provide a global talent pool through the platform’s registration of freelancers and experts, including engineers, inspectors, EPC contractors, project developers, consultants and supervisors.
Businesses can hire experts from any part of the world for their projects. The platform will make use of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm to match the service seekers to the service providers based on their requirements, rates of pay, and skills of freelancers registered on the platform.
YuSmart will provide specific industry information based on the preferences of each member. Members can keep up to date with the latest industry trends, and receive assistance in capitalizing on opportunities ahead of other players.
YuTrainer will connect renewables industry experts with people wishing to reskill or upskill for employment in the renewables industry by offering them relevant real-time industrial experience. The AI-based algorithm derives a list of courses suitable for each trainee depending on the information supplied in a proprietary smart questionnaire.
Trainers can record and post their training courses on the platform, and earn recurring income.
The AI-based platform has been developed by experts from the renewables industry with more than 75 years of combined experience in digitalization, wind and solar project development, global marketing and technology.
'VerdeYu started in the Spring of 2021 with the aim of democratizing renewables and to provide end-to-end expertise as a service platform, Director and CEO of VerdeYu Inc. Ray Chris told Anadolu Agency in an exclusive interview/
He explained that VerdeYu is a fusion of words from Spanish and Sanskrit meaning 'Green community.’
'We have currently more than 250 engaged users and businesses and more than 4,000 contacts who are engaged with VerdeYu. Our client base comes from more than 15 geographic locations,' Chris said.
He encourages renewables businesses and experts to use the platform to connect with other industry players, execute projects, and learn new skills while being updated with all new trends.
The renewables workforce is currently 11 million globally and is estimated to be 42 million globally.
'Our projections are to at least be on board with 10% of that workforce in the next five years. Specifically in Turkiye, with the growth projections, we estimate a workforce close to 200,000 in the next five years, directly and indirectly, working on renewables,' he concluded.
