Turkey's total oil imports rose by 12.7% to 3.52 million tonnes in January 2020 compared to the same month of 2019, according to Turkish energy watchdog's data.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, jumped 22.7% during that period to reach 2.68 million tonnes, Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly oil market report.
In January 2020, Turkey imported the highest amount of crude from Iraq at 741,309 tonnes. Russia and Kazakhstan followed with 498,546 tonnes and 413,547 tonnes, respectively.
Oil refinery product output increased by 23.72% to 2.88 million tonnes in January 2020. While diesel production was up 55.94% to 1.27 million tonnes, gasoline production also decreased by nearly 7.37% to 413,930 tonnes in the same month.
In Janauary 2020, total domestic oil product sales rose by 7.56% to 2.12 million tonnes compared to the same month of 2019.
