Ukraine's Naftogaz group paid taxes and dividends to the tune of 136.5 billion Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) (US$4.8 billion) towards the 2018 state budget as of Jan. 8, 2019, the company said on Thursday.
The company's contribution to the 2018 state budget increased by more than 27 percent compared with 2017. This includes UAH 23.9 billion of corporate tax, UAH 37.4 billion of VAT, UAH 28.5 billion of royalties and UAH 29.5 billion of dividends along with other payments.
The Naftogaz group remains the biggest contributor to Ukraine’s state budget with payments from the group accounting for nearly 15 percent of total revenues for the 2018 budget.
In comparison, Ukraine’s defense budget in 2017 totaled UAH 86.6 billion while UAH 55.5 billion of gas subsidies for households was allocated from the state budget.
