Jersey-based energy services company Petrofac was awarded more than $1.7 billion of new orders so far this year, the company's Chief Executive Ayman Asfari said on Friday.
Asfari, speaking at the company's annual general meeting, said Petrofac delivered a solid full year results in 2017 and is also well positioned in 2018.
Petrofac acts as a sub-contractor for the TurkStream gas pipeline project and was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract to build the onshore receiving terminal for the project at Kiyikoy on Turkey's Eastern Thrace's Black Sea coast.
'We continue to make good progress in 2018 delivering our strategy of focusing on our core, delivering organic growth and reducing capital intensity. Tendering activity remains high,' Asfari said.
Britain’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) confirmed in May 2017 that it was investigating the activities of Petrofac, its subsidiaries, and their officers, employees and agents for suspected bribery, corruption and money laundering.
This investigation is related to the SFO’s ongoing investigation into the activities of Monaco-based Unaoil that has been accused of widespread bribery and corruption.
