In order to manufacture energy equipment, $150 to $160 billion investment is needed in Turkey's renewable energy industry till 2025, said the head of the Turkish Exporters Assembly.
There will be more investment promotion to support the development of domestic energy equipment production, said Mehmet Buyukeksi on Monday.
Buyukeksi underlined that in the production of hydroelectric, wind and thermal power plants equipment are not enough in Turkey, 'and most of them are imported,' he added
'In Turkey, we also need to transfer the technology with foreign partners,' he said.
Beside all these, Turkey is ahead of most country in cable production and exportation abroad, Buyukeksi emphasized.
Talking about production of the renewable energy tools, Buyukeksi said 'In the solar panel technology, Turkey needs to produce cells that are used in making of panels.'
The overall slide in exports since the beginning of the year reached 8.9 percent compared with same period of last year with the total value of exports declining to $95.13 billion.
Turkish exports from January to August of 2014 were $104.43 billion.
