Turkey's Akorenbeli Hydroelectricity Investment Construction and Transmission AS won the tender for the privatization of the Kilavuzlu and Menzelet hydropower plants, at a cost of 1.25 billion Turkish liras, it was announced late Thursday.
The plants are located in the province of Kahramanmaras in Turkey's southeastern Mediterranean region
In total, 10 companies participated in the tender, and after five rounds, three companies proceeded to open bidding.
A minimum bid offer limit was set at of 1 billion liras and the open bidding offer started with 1.152 billion liras.
Hydroelectricity Investment Construction and Transmission AS won the tender with a final offer of 1.25 billion liras.
Akorenbeli operates as a sub-company of leading Turkish company, Akfen Holding, a infrastructure investments-oriented holding company which was founded in 1976.
The Menzelet plant has 124 megawatts of installed power capacity while Kilavuzluplant has 54 megawatts.
One dollar equals 3.11 Turkish liras.
