Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 1.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 740,990 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,945 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 24,242 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 740,990 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a decrease of 10.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 20.9% of total generation, while run-of-river hydroelectric plants and imported coal plants contributed 165.8% and 14.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 5,945 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 6,186 megawatt-hours.
