Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 4.7% to 4.15 million tons in November 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Wednesday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 12.6% in November 2023 to 2.96 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in November 2023, totaling 2.56 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 481,667 tons and 421,314 tons, respectively.
Oil refinery product exports surged by 65% to 1.33 million tons, while output also increased by 11.4% to 3.38 million tons.
Furthermore, domestic oil product sales rose by 11% year over year in November 2023 to 2.71 million tons.
