Anadolu Agency's Energy Journalism training program came to an end Friday with participants receiving their certificates.
The program was organized by Anadolu Agency's News Academy in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
A group of 21 trainees from 10 different countries -- Niger, Libya, Sudan, Iraq, Algeria, Cameroon, Romania, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Albania -- attended 80 hours of lessons during the two-week long program.
As part of the program held between Feb. 26 and March 9, several subjects -- including energy news writing techniques, energy policies, the global natural gas and oil market -- were addressed.
Speaking at a ceremony during which participants were given their certificates, Anadolu Agency's News Academy Deputy Coordinator Hayri Cetinkus highlighted the importance of the geopolitical position of Turkey in terms of energy resources.
'This position increases Turkey's importance in terms of world energy relations and energy diplomacy, and makes it a key country in transit of oil and gas,' Cetinkus said.
