Morocco launches second earth-observation satellite

- French-built satellite is launched into orbit from French Guiana's Kouru Base

Morocco late Tuesday launched its second satellite from the Kourou Base in French Guiana, Morocco’s official MAP news agency has reported.

The French-built satellite, according to the agency, will be used for mapping, agricultural planning and disaster prevention, along with border and coastal surveillance.

It will be Morocco’s second earth-observation satellite, the first having been launched in November of last year.
