SOCAR to send two tankers of oil to Belarus in March

- Arrangement marks alternative oil source to Russia, which president said would occur if Russia sets high oil prices

SOCAR will send two oil tankers with a total volume of 170 thousand tons to Belarus in March, according to SOCAR officials on Monday.

Officials told Anadolu Agency that one of the tankers will be sent from Turkey's Ceyhan port on March 5 or 6 while the other will be sent from Georgia on March 20.

This arrangement represents an alternative oil source for Belarus other than Russia. Previously, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that if Russia sets high prices for oil, they would have to look for alternative sources.
