Türkiye's energy import bill increased by 2.3% to $6.8 billion in December compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $6.65 billion last December.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $32.22 billion.
At $6.8 billion, energy accounted for 21.10% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in December.
Crude oil imports saw a 14.7% decrease to 2.47 million tons, compared to 2.90 million tons in December 2023.
