Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 0.3% to 4.35 million tons in August, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Friday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, fell by 3.05% in August to 2.85 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in August, totaling 1.94 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 988,134 tons and 539,166 tons, respectively.
Oil refinery product exports decreased by 4.57% to 1.17million tons, while output also increased by 3.74% to 3.49 million tons.
However, domestic oil product sales decreased by 1.55.% year over year in August to 2.76 million tons.
