Vestas signed a new agreement with the Brazilian energy company, Casa dos Ventos, for the 360-megawatt Babilonia project, located in the cities of Morro do Chapeu and Varzea Nova, in Bahia, the company announced on Wednesday.
The contract includes the supply and installation of 80 wind turbines as well as a 20-year active output management service agreement.
Vestas said the contract is the fourth between the companies in just two years. This order takes the cooperation past the 1.5-gigawatt mark and highlights the position of Casa dos Ventos as Vestas's largest customer in Latin America.
The delivery of wind turbines is planned for the second half of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
