Vestas secures 40 MW wind order in Japan

- Deliveries are expected to begin in second quarter of 2021

Vestas received a 40-megawatt (MW) wind order from Japan Wind Development (JWD) for the Hirado Minami Wind Farm in Japan’s Nagasaki prefecture, the company announced on Monday.

Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2021, with commissioning planned for the fourth quarter.

'With the momentum we are gaining in the Japanese market, Vestas is ready and committed to support the country’s growing ambition to increase renewable energy sources.'

Vestas designs, manufactures, installs, and services wind turbines across the globe.

The company, with more than 25,000 employees, has installed 113 gigawatts of wind turbines in 81 countries.
