1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria celebrated in Tatarstan

The 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria, was celebrated with events in Kazan, the capital of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, and the historical city of Bolgar.

Celebrations took place as part of the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Summit 2022, of which Anadolu Agency is the global communication partner.

As part of the celebrations, light shows illuminated the Kazan Kremlin wall, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, and the White Mosque in the historical city of Bolgar.
