Russia will increase its natural gas exports via pipeline by 11% and liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports by 14% in 2024, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an article penned for the Energy Policy magazine.
Novak expects a rise in Russia's share in the global natural gas market this year, with estimations of a 11% increase in pipeline gas exports to 108 billion cubic meters due to planned flow expansion through the Power of Siberia pipeline and a 14% rise in LNG exports to 38 million tons.
Although Russia's natural gas production recorded a 5.5% annual decline last year, decreasing to 636.7 billion cubic meters, gas production from offshore fields rose by 10.9% to 34.5 billion cubic meters, Novak said.
'The export of pipeline gas at the end of 2023 amounted to 91.4 billion cubic meters, and the export of liquefied gas was around 43.6 billion cubic meters,' he said.
