A U.S. delegation will visit Israel and the West Bank this month to learn more about issues critical to U.S.-Israeli relations and international security, a congressman said Monday.
“I am pleased to join 41 of my colleagues in traveling to Israel to reaffirm our support for a critical U.S. ally and to continue learning about the opportunities and challenges facing Israel and the Middle East,” Steny Hoyer, the majority leader of the House of Representatives, said on his Twitter account.
Hoyer and other Democrats will visit Israel on Aug. 5-11, according to a statement issued by the House of Representatives.
The delegation will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the statement added.
