Aygaz, Europe’s biggest liquefied petroleum gas importer company will make a 24 million Turkish lira investment (approximately EUR nine million) into storage capacity, the company announced.
The company will increase the capacity of the Aliaga Storage Facility in Izmir, the third biggest city of Turkey, from around 29 thousand cubic meters to approximately 48 thousand cubic meters, according to the company’s project file.
To store LPG, Aygaz will construct three storage tanks with a capacity of five thousand cubic meters each and one storage tank with a capacity of four thousand cubic meters. The Turkish company plans to construct the first tank in 2016.
Aygaz imported approximately 1.1 million tons of LPG, equal to 37.1 percent of Turkey's total LPG imports in 2013.
