Gazprom's natural gas production between January and October this year decreased 18.6% to 344 billion cubic meters compared to the same period last year, Russian energy company Gazprom said Tuesday.
Gazprom's natural gas exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States also fell by 42.6% during the same period.
Exports totaled 91.2 billion cubic meters from January to October.
According to Gazprom, gas exports through the Power of Siberia pipeline to China increased and exceeded what was required by contract.
The company said in a statement that high occupancy levels in underground natural gas storage facilities in Europe would not guarantee a comfortable passing over the winter.
The price of natural gas per megawatt-hour on Monday's closing for December contracts in Europe, trading on the Netherlands-based virtual natural gas trading point (TTF), showed a 67.18% rise to €123.35 ($142.38) compared to €73.78 ($85.16) on Jan. 3.
