Russian energy company Gazprom's natural gas shipments to Europe via Ukraine will decrease by 23% on Thursday compared to Wednesday, according to a statement made by Gazprom to the Russian press on Thursday.
Request for gas delivery from the company's Sokhranivka distribution point was rejected by Ukraine, according to the statement.
The shipments will continue from Sudzha point and the volume of the shipment will stand at 25.1 million cubic meters on Thursday.
The amount of gas shipments by Gazprom to Europe via Ukraine, which stood at 32.6 million cubic meters on Wednesday, will thus be cut down by 23% compared to Jan. 18.
In May last year, Ukraine stopped the shipment at the Sokhranivka distribution point, where one-third of Russian natural gas to Europe passes.
Gazprom's natural gas shipments to western and central Europe stopped via the Nord Stream and Yamal-Europe pipelines. The company's shipment to the these regions continues only through Ukraine.
