Russian energy giant Gazprom's net profit for the third quarter of 2019 decreased by 45% to 212 billion rubles ($3.3 billion) compared to the same period last year, the company announced on Friday.
The decrease was due to the fall in volume of natural gas exports and lower natural gas prices, the Russian company said.
The company’s third-quarter income shrunk by 37% to 587 billion rubles. However, Gazprom's net profit for the January-September period increased year-on-year by 3% to 1 trillion rubles.
In 2018, the world's largest natural gas producer's net profit amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles ($22.5 billion).
US$1 equals 64.10 Russian rubles at 11.12 GMT on Friday.
