Turkey's domestic autogas sales increased by 98 percent and reached to 3 million tons over the last ten years, according to official figures from Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) on Saturday.
Since 2006, Turkey's sales of bottled and bulk LPG decreased rapidly, however domestic sales of autogas LPG continued to increaseç
The sale of bottled LPG has decreased by 45 percent in 2015 to 815.5 thousand tons in 2015, compared to 2006.
Bulk LPG sales also were down by 63 percent in 2015 compared to 2006. In 2006, Turkish customers bought 475.4 thousand tons of bulk LPG, and this figure decreased to 176.2 thousand tons in 2015.
On the other hand, autogas sales saw a 98 percent increase in 2015 compared to 2006 figures.
Turkish customers bought 1.55 million tons of autogas in 2006 and 3 million tons in 2015.
Despite lower sales of bulk and bottled LPG, increasing autogas sales balanced the market and made an increase of 15.5 percent in total LPG sales in the country in 2015.
