Türkiye's energy import bill declined by 0.5% to $5.29 billion in August compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $5.32 billion last August.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $27.04 billion.
At $5.29 billion, energy accounted for 19.5% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in August.
Crude oil imports saw a 7% decrease to 2.64 million tons, compared to 2.85 million tons in August 2023.
