Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), Türkiye's national oil and gas firm in charge of oil and gas exploration, declared on Friday that the drilling vessel Fatih has started drilling at its new location in the Filyos-1 well in the Black Sea.
TPAO said on the X social media platform that the vessel has begun drilling as part of the country’s exploration goals.
Fatih is a sixth-generation ultra-deepwater drillship that weighs 51,283 gross tons and has a length of 229 meters and 36 meters in diameter.
It is an integral part of the country’s offshore oil and gas exploration fleet, which also comprises other drilling ships, Yavuz, Kanuni, Abdulhamid Han, as well as research vessels Oruc Reis and Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha.
