The US energy company ConocoPhillips reported a loss of $2.7 billion in 2020 compared to $7.2 billion in earnings in 2019, according to its financial results statement released on Tuesday.
The company also posted a fourth-quarter 2020 loss of $0.8 billion compared with fourth-quarter 2019 earnings of $0.7 billion.
The company had recorded a loss of $450 million in the third quarter of 2020, earnings of $260 million in the second quarter and a loss of $1.7 billion in the first quarter of last year.
The firm's total production last year, excluding Libya, fell year-on-year by 187,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) to 1.118 billion boepd.
